Albertsons GM Promo UPDATE!

It is being reported that the Albertsons General Mills Promo that I told you about HERE is printing BEFORE coupons. Now I haven't tried this for myself yet, so let me know if this works for you. So, if the reports are correct, you only need to spend the $20 BEFORE tax and coupons and then your $7 catalina will print. It is also being reported that these catalinas do roll, which means that you do the transaction once, then when you do it the second time, you can use your $7 catalina towards your 2nd transaction and another $7 catalina will print. Repeat.

It is also being reported that the following catalinas are also running:

Fiber One Bars:
Buy 3 Get $1.50
Buy 4 Get $2.50
Buy 5 get $3.50

BC Fruit Snacks:
Buy 3 Get $1.50
Buy 4 Get $2.50
Buy 5 get $3.50

Possible scenarios with all catalinas (thanks fabulesslyfrugal!)

PURCHASE 5 Fiber One Bars ($2.50 each)
PURCHASE 4 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks ($2.50 each)
TOTAL: $22.50

USE:
(2) $.50/2 BC Fruit Snacks from coupons.com

Albertsons 2/24-3/2

I was pretty excited to see the General Mills Promo back again at Albertsons this week, especially because it includes a $7 catalina with a $20 purchase, where it is usually only a $5 catalina. Then I read the fine print. This time the deal is different. Hopefully this is a one time thing and not a permanent change.
The deal this time is you must spend $20 AFTER store and manufacturer coupons and you can only do one deal per person. UGH! Not that great of a deal. So now, you have to bring your total GM purchase to $20 AFTER all coupons, and I'm assuming the catalina, if you are allowed to roll it. Come on Albertsons, give us something to get excited about!!
Here are some of the General Mills Promo matchups thanks to discountqueens. The price is before/after catalina factored in.

FREE Oatmeal!!

I used my Oatmeal rain check from the Quaker sale at Albertsons the other day while they had some in stock. I bought 20 boxes of oatmeal for $1 each. Then I used 10 $2/2 Quaker oatmeal coupons from the Albertsons coupon book and got all 20 boxes for FREEEEE!!!! (well, I did have to pay tax...)

Purex 3-in-1

My Albertsons clearanced these 20 ct Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets for $2.99 (reg $7.99)
I doubled my $1 off coupons and got them for only $.99 each!! I actually bought 8 (not sure where I put the other 2) so that's 160 loads of laundry for less than $8!!! Now that's a great deal!

My Coupon Binder

There are lots of different ways to file your coupons, and not one way is the right way. It is just whatever works best for you. For me, the binder is the only way to go. I have a lot of coupons and this is just the only way I can keep track of them. I file mine by category rather than date.

I bought my old binder because it had a handle on it. Turns out, I had so many coupons that the handle did me no good because I couldn't zip the thing closed! Since I couldn't close it, I had to start carrying it in a bag.

Then I saw my friend's Case-It binder and I fell in love!!! I had to have one!!

I ordered mine from amazon.com. I got the larger one and it cost $25.09 and shipping was free. It was well worth it.

It actually has 2 sets of rings. This larger binder has a 3 inch ring on one side (which is where I put my grocery coupons) and a 1 1/2 inch ring on the other side (which is where I put my household and health & beauty coupons).
It also comes with the pouches that are pictured above which are super handy!! There is one for each side and they velcro down to hold everything in place.
It is also a little less conspicuous when it's lying on the top of the shopping cart than the other binder was.

Now I can actually zip this closed!!! It also has a handle and a shoulder strap so no more coupon bag needed!! There is also a compartment on the front "cover" that has pockets to hold scissors and pens and such.
I am in love with my new binder, and I just thought I would share my way of filing with you all.

Coupons in the Mail!!!

Last week, I got all of the above coupons in the mail. This is why it pays (literally) to sign up for freebies and coupons.

I received:
Huggies coupons
Fred Meyer rewards coupons
2 $2 Advil coupons from CVS
$17 Con Agra coupon book
Tide coupons I ordered off of Ebay
$25 off Canyon Crest meal coupon

People ask me all the time where I get all of my coupons...well, this is one of the places. I try to sign up for coupon books offered by manufacturers and other "freebies" that I find of interest. Remeber, whenever a company sends you a free sample, they almost always include coupons for the product.

UPDATE on Walgreens Coloring Book Coupons

Remember the Walgreens Coloring Book I told you about HERE? The coupon policy has just changed.
My friend was told that last night by the store manager that Walgreens got word from corporate that they have to cut the coupons out of the coloring book and keep them from now on. No more just entering codes like they do for the rest of their store coupons. I'm not too sure of the reason for this but I thought I would pass it on. Looks like you will have to buy a book for each coupon you want to use. This doesn't make the deals quite as sweet any more, though. :(

FREE Excedrin!!

Answer one question and get a FREE bottle of Excedrin in the mail!! Just don't select Excedrin as one of the products you've used recently!! (If you do then you will receive a $2 off coupon)

Update on Smith's Coupon Policy

I learned tonight that Smiths has changed their coupon policy yet again. I don't want to have to get on my soap box again but let it just be said that if people continue to abuse the store's acceptance of competitor coupons, then pretty soon they aren't going to even accept them at all.

The Idaho Smiths stores are the only stores that accept competitor coupons and they have slowly changed their policy because people are taking advantage. I'm sure it's none of my readers tho!! ;)

Their new policy: They will only accept competitor coupons from other GROCERY stores.
I was told that they will no longer accept Walgreens, Shopko, Kmart, and other store's catalina coupons. They will continue to accept Albertsons and Fred Meyer coupons. Target was not mentioned and I didn't think about it until I left so I am not certain if they are accepting Target coupons still or not. I will let you know when I find out.
Please, use your coupon etiquette when shopping. Be kind, don't take all of the coupon books, ads, or items. Leave some for others and don't do what you know is wrong. There are a few who do this and ruin it for the rest of us.

My Mega Event Trips

OK, so I've really been talking up this Mega Event sale at Smiths the last two weeks and for good reason...it was a good one!! There were so many coupons to pair with the great sale prices! I wish that I would have had my card reader so I could have dazzled you all with pictures of my purchases ;) however, my kids ran away with it again and so I am picture-less. I did a tally and thought I would at least share the numbers with you.

Over the last two weeks I made six trips to Smiths. I left each time with a cart full of groceries!! Not just a few items, but TONS of stuff. I was able to re-stock on lots of items that I needed and I got enough to last my family months. I spent more than I usually do in two weeks time but like I said, I got so much for my money!

Total Spent: $241.15

Total Saved: $807.12 or 77%

Albertsons Coupon Book

These Albertsons coupon books are now available at the Twin Falls store. They are on display by both entrances but are going quickly. Please be polite and don't take them all. Only take what you will use and save some for everyone else.
Inside is a $1/1 Fresh Express Salad kit that can be paired with the $1.47 store coupon (ends today!!) final price: $.47
Also, there is a $1/2 12 pk of Coke coupon that can be used at Smiths to pair with their 4 for $11 Coke sale (also ends today!!) final price: $9 for 4 cases, or $2.25 each.
There is also a $2/2 Quaker instant oatmeal coupon inside. This can be used if you got a rain check on instant oatmeal from last week's Quaker sale, making them free.

Walgreens Coloring Book with Coupons is HERE!

Have you been reading about all of these great coupons found inside the Walgreens coloring book, but NEVER being able to find the coloring book??? Well, the new Walgreens store in Twin Falls FINALLY has them in stock!!! (The old store might have them too, I just haven't been there yet)

These are $.99 each and come with all of the above coupons inside the cover. They are located in the pharmacy next to the cash register. There are some great coupons in here, especially the $1 Huggies coupon to pair with the great sale on Huggies this week. You don't need to buy 3 like I did tho, I wasn't thinking and bought one book for each package of diapers I was buying but they just enter the code and don't even take your coupon, so one book will suffice. I shared my other 2 books with friends.
(so no need to buy them all, save some for everyone else!!)

Last Day of Mega Event Sale at Smiths
